I was raised a native of Lincoln County, Kansas and am currently attending K-Sate as an undergraduate student with a Major in Geology. Prior to attending K-State, I was a third year undergraduate student at "Thomas A. Edison" State College in Newark, New Jersey with a Major in Business Administration. Prior to my retirement, my main area of specialization was Government Contracting in the private sector. I have worked on numerous contracts on Fort Riley over a 20 year span. My work experience consisted of Cost Accountant, Company Controller, Production Control Manager, Contract Administrator, and Project Manager.
I served in the U.S. Army from October 1969 to July 1975, with overseas assignments to Vietnam, Korea, and Germany. I joined the Army Reserves in July 1979 and was actived for "Destert Storm" in Sept 1990 to Jan 1991, and for operations "Iraqi Freedom" and "Enduring Freedom" in January 2003 until April 2010 at which time I retired from the military. Although I live in Manhattan, I also own a small ranch in Wabunsee County, Kansas. I spend a lot of my free time on my ranch taking care of my horses, my wife's goats, a donkey, and my granddaughters ponies. What little spare time I do have, is spent going to Gun & Knife shows throughout Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri.
My hobbies include gold prospecting with my son and older brother, traveling to Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. This is how I mainly spend my summer months if I'm not attending summer classes at K-State. I also collect old coins and currency from the 1600's up through the middle 1900's. If there is anyone out there that has coins or currency they would like to sell, please get in contact with me. I also have a very extensive collection of guns and knives, a passion my father had instilled in me.
