Daniel Andresen
About me...
Background
I was born and raised on a farm in Omaha, Nebraska. We grew corn,
soybeans, and alfalfa, as well as raising purebred Charolais cattle.
We moved out to the coast when I was a young teen, living first
in Olympia, Washington for a few years before moving south to
Santa Barbara, CA. We lived there from 1985-1997.
After receiving the Ph.D. from UCSB in Computer Science, I moved to
Manhattan, KS, to become a professor at Kansas State.
I also met a wonderful woman, Rachel, who I married in the summer
of 1999. Rachel taught 9th grade English at Manhattan
High School for six years before becoming a homemaker.
She has recently become a doula, offering labor support
during childbirth. Check out her website at

Interests
Flying
I am a licensed pilot, nominally working on my instrument rating. I was also the
Vice President of our local Experimental Aviation Association chapter in Santa Barbara.
Racquetball
I've been playing racquetball since my boss taught me how at Westmont,
and was about a club 'B' level player.
Personality
For those who might be interested, I'm an
INTJ
according to the Myers-Brigss test. I found the "Dealing with INTJs" list
here or here both apt and amusing.
